SNAKE FACTOR IN SPIRITUALITY

SNAKE FACTOR IN SPIRITUALITY
Tejinder Narang

The path of spirituality is very micro-fined, delicate and slippery. Many devotees feel that they have made no or a little progress even after years of initiation and meditation. The other view is that the feeling of “lacking something” reinforces intent of the aspirant for greater effort and ultimately benefits him spiritually.

No progress can be sufficient when one is dealing with INFINITE. Feeling of spiritual inadequacy is thus natural. Even if any progress is felt, it is too microscopic to be reckoned in the boundless scale of cosmology and the realms beyond. But one thing is sure-- that all sincere efforts result in evolvement –because that is the Natural Law. Nothing goes wasted.

In terms of Divinity such a measurement may never be expected or cherished and is deemed to be highly regressive. How can a “micro-timed bubble (man)” of a drop (Cosmos) get the feel of an ocean (Divine) till it becomes “One” by merging in such a Vastness?

Sensing progression of any magnitude requires greatest caution beyond human endeavor. Should there be any headway achieved or felt on this path, the danger too is acute and severe.  The greatest risk is from ego, I-ness, vanity, self-achievement, superiority or wanting more.
“That I have done it” does the entire undoing. This very thought is “the game of snake and ladder”. The “snake” can bite at square no.98 and one can crash straight to no.2—from where one has to restart again. All is lost. And then there are many snakes and ladders at various numerical levels. The path therefore has its in-built ups and downs.

That is why “If Thou so will” or only “Thy will be done” is preached by True Mystic Masters.
