IMPERFECT HUMAN EXPERIENCES--- DO WE
INFER REALITY OR NON-REALITY
AND MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE.
Human beings are imperfect observers. Human awareness is
limited to the extent it is structured to function in this creation. Unless
there is primary God-gifted “Elevated Awareness,” we cannot capture the essence
of Reality with our mind, body, and senses.
The senses are vital for transmitting signals to the cerebral
consciousness, while human awareness transforms them to inevitable conclusions
and understanding. Thus, inner consciousness is crucial for understanding the externality
and internality. It is not merely confined to the outer frame of the physical
body and senses, which also operate with limitations.
Billions of events are taking place in the world of which we remain
unaware. In dreams, the entire perspective of time, space, life, death, colors,
speed changes. That proves that time and space are variable if the state of
consciousness alters.
Consider the following illustrations-
1.
Sitting
at home or anywhere, we feel that we are stationary. On the contrary, we are
synchronized with the earth’s circular motion around its axis while circling
the Sun. That can be observed because the day changes into the night, and night
progresses towards the day.
2.
The
Sun and Moon are always there in the sky. They do not rise or set in. But our
understanding of day and night is subjective because of our relative
positioning on the earth.
3.
In
cosmic phenomenon, the Sun and sunlight are omnipresent on the earth and
elsewhere. The existence of night is a
planetary illusion.
4.
The
moon is always full and not half or quarter as seen.
5.
When
we look at the Sun, we observe its position, which existed 8.33 minutes before.
(Distance between the Sun and Earth is 150,000,000 km divided by speed of
light 300,000km/second =500 seconds. =8.33 minutes.) The present position
cannot be observed. All that is inferred
by seeing is what transpired in the past and not the present.

Considering
that many stars and planets are far from the Sun, we cannot conjecture their
real-time position. All that we watch is what happened in the past (and not “now”
or in real-time). Many stars visible to us “now” may have died/fallen a long
time ago as these are billions of lights years away. “Now” is an illusion
accepted voluntarily by the human mind.

We
take the distance between the Sun and earth (as an example) for granted at 150
million km. Had the distance been more (say 160 million km), the planet earth
would have been colder, and the survival would have been awesomely tricky. At the
same time, a lesser expanse would have led to scorching heat on the earth.
8.
Water’s
composition is H2O at an average temperature. Water is a compound of two gases.
All the seas, rivers, snow, steam represent gases in diverse forms at different
temperatures. Most of our daily experience is of water and not gaseous matter--
much different—because of the subtle chemical reaction and temperature
conditioning.
9.
We
see the sky as blue, but at night it is black. The incidence of a type of light
alters the color. Likewise, the sea appears to be blue, dark blue, black
depending upon the time of the day. The same is valid with appearances on
earth. What we see is relative to conditions prevailing at that time. What is
the natural hue of these objects?
10. Though we may not be conscious of
this phenomenon, air entwined with moisture (water) co-exists in any familiar
environment.
11. We may claim that “we” walk. We take
the presence of earth and gravity for granted. Unless earth’s gravity and
friction are supportive, walking is impossible because of a lack of pull and
push. Thus, walking on water or slippery
surfaces is dreadful because of a lack of firm support and friction.
12. Our weight is also relative and not
absolute, depending upon the force of gravity. On the Moon or Mars, the weight
will vary depending upon the gravitational force on that planet
13. We feel we are growing daily. We are
dying every moment. Death begins the moment we are born. In this unawareness,
we spend our lifetime.
14. We see because of our eyes or hear
because of ears or speak because of mouth/ tongue. A deeper understanding
reveals that primary consciousness is gifted to us, the sensual current is
transmitted to the brain, and thoughts flow from subtle planes. Then
coagulations of ideas take place, which prompts us to act through our various
limbs.
15. It is commonly said that our eyes do
85-90 % of work but consider the inbuilt constraints on our seeing. For both
eyes combined (binocular) visual field is 135° vertical and 200° horizontal. It
is not 360° in all directions. Through a microscope, more details can be
sighted. Telescope increases the capacity to watch distant objects. Thus, the capacity
of the eyes can be significantly enhanced by artificial means. What is to be
seen by naked eyes is pre-determined, but that may not be a reality.
16. Do we see “all” colors? No. We are
exposed to a limited range of the spectrum of light. The existence of X-Rays
cannot be inferred with human eyes. Infrared and ultraviolet rays are invisible
to the human spectrum. We cannot appreciate the presence of electromagnetic
waves like radio waves, etc., in the sunlight and environment, which are the
basis of TV and mobile telephony.
17. Many animals can only see black and
white and shades of black and not colors. Animals may speak to others of their
Kin, but in a frequency which is inaudible to human ears.
THE CONCLUSION—WE ARE IMPERFECT OBSERVERS AND LIMITED TO
EXPERIENCE, EVEN WHAT IS PHYSICAL.
MYSTERIOUS UNIVERSE
Human
being evolved from Chimpanzees of African jungles about seven million years ago.
He became an ‘Intelligent Man’ only in the last 20,000 years. His brain evolved
to struggle, fight and survive in the jungle. The software developed in the
brain was to anticipate enemies or adverse conditions and then secure personal
safety and seek food and shelter etc. His brain still carries the same
software. His instinct of survival was so dominant that it never explored the
questions like--

What is the physical
reality,
-
What is this
Universe,
-
What is time and
space etc.?
His
mental makeup or the brain is not designed to answer such questions. And
therefore, his mind always gets puzzled when such questions are raised. This is
what we construe as the mystery.
All
those persons who attempt to confront and resolve such challenges are labeled
as Thinker, Philosopher, Saints, Rishis, and Scientist, etc. No doubt they have
exceptional and brilliant minds. Each one tackles these puzzles in their way.
Socrates, Plato, Aristotle Yagnavalakya (Upnishadic Master of Veda),
Shankaracharya, Buddha, Mahaveer, Kabeer, Guru Nanak are some examples we know.
Some
other unique minds introspected about similar questions. They tried to comprehend
these problems through logic, rationality, or in simple terms, scientific
process. Pythagoras, Aryabhatta, Madhava, Euler, Gauss, Newton, Einstein,
Dirac, Hawking, Schrodinger, Heisenberg, Gödel, Spinoza, Cantor, Ramanujan,
Bose, and others are a few. Each of them, while trying to unlock the secret of
the Universe, experienced the paranormal mystery and beauty of mystical
reality behind the physical Universe. When they went deep down searching
for the truth, they found that all the secrets of nature can’t be revealed
to the Human Mind. And the reason was apparent- because the brain was not
designed to process this data received from the sensory organs.
Kurt
Gödel gave a theory called the ‘Incompleteness Theorem’. It says that-
Any attempt to know the complete truth will bring contradictions, and
conversely, any attempt to eliminate the contradictions will restrict the
complete knowledge of the truth. (The limitation of mind)

Heisenberg gave
the famous ‘Uncertainty Principle. It says that position and momentum (superficial
velocity) both can’t be measured accurately at the same time.
(Here x is position, p is momentum (mass into
velocity, and h cross is Planks Constant)
If we
measure position accurately, then we will not be able to determine its momentum
precisely. And if we measure the momentum exactly, then we will not know where
the particle is located. That is the micro-world of elementary particles like
electrons, protons, etc.

Mathematics is
considered to be very exact. But its foundation is very slippery. Cantor was a
great mind; unfortunately, he died in a mental asylum. Let’s see how many
points are there in a straight line. We don’t know
-
Now let’s take a unique
number “pie”-
It’s called an irrational number
because its exact value can’t be calculated through normal mathematical
operations like addition and subtraction.
We use the value of pie up to three decimal places in engineering. But
its decimal extension is Infinitely Long. Today up to trillion decimal places,
its value has been calculated by the latest computers working for hours. It means; even if we use the trillion decimal
long value of pie, the value of circumference will still be approximate. Since
its value extends to infinity, the human mind can’t measure precisely the
circumference of a circle.

And most
mysterious of all is Schrodinger’s wave equation:-
Instead
of understanding its implication, in
simplest terms, it says that reality doesn’t exist till it is observed.
Unless we observe through our sensory organs like the eye or through measuring
instruments, reality doesn’t exist. This theory has a very profound implication
on our understanding of physical reality/ nature.
There
are several cases where great minds of mathematics and science came face to
face with the mystery of the Universe. They
were astonished at the architecture and constructions of the unspeakable beauty
of the Universe and felt ‘ thus and no further’ because beyond is the domain of
the “Master Builder’( by whatever name you call him- God, Brahm…).
So
we come back to where we started after a short journey. The Human Brain is not
equipped to attack such questions.
And
therefore, those who dare are great souls, e.g., Rishi, Saints, Religious
leaders, Mathematicians, Scientists, etc.
And
lastly-
-
most mysterious of all, the Black Hole, which
can provide a clue to Birth and Death of
the Universe………………….
