KHALISTAN IS NOT A VIABLE ENTITY

KHALISTAN IS NOT A VIABLE ENTITY

Indian Panjab, as Khalistan, is an unviable landlocked entity. Panjabis, their places of worship, and Sikhs' gurdwaras have spread throughout India's length and breadth, from Ladakh to Kerala, even abroad. The footprints of Sikh Gurus have expanse in their Indian continent of the then Hindustan.

Economically, politically or religiously, the idea of Khalistan is regressive and foolish; when the Sikhs can operate in all professions without fear and favor in a vast nation, why should they be limited to small geographical boundaries? The current controversy is uncalled for and may benefit some political parties in their agenda for the Indian General elections of 2024.

All the Sikh Gurus were Hindus. They followed Guru Nanak Sahib's teachings that were shorn of worshipping idols, ritualism, castes, creed, pilgrimages, fasting, and living in jungles and remote places. They preached inner devotion to the Divine by living in His Will for self-realization instead of acquiring para-normal or miraculous power for public exhibitionism.

The spiritual teachings of Sikh Gurus are meant for the entire world and are not limited to any group or ideology. Do the Khalistanis want to create a landlocked habitat that is counterproductive?

Panjab has now merely been reduced to an agricultural state---- while educated and intelligent individuals have migrated abroad or to other parts of India for business or jobs.

Kindly introspect that  –

1.       Punjab lost a lot of land territory during the partition of 1947.

2.       Punjab got trifurcated in 1966 when Himachal, Haryana, and Chandigarh were carved out. It has no exclusive Capital. Akali and Congress politicians enriched themselves at the expense of the state's exchequer and lost touch with the educated Panjabi Elite

3.       Panjab lost its position as a secure and safe state for industrial development when Bhindrewala was created for Congress's political compulsions, leading to the operation of Bluestar in 1984—non -employment created a drug menace in the youth of the states.

4.       It is unclear which political forces are further creating religious and political divisiveness in the state for the 2024 elections.

5.       India, including all stakeholders, will be losers if Khalistan's current controversy is not nipped in the bud instantly. Neither the slogan of Hindu Rashtra is the solution. Sikhs or those desirous of Khalistan should desist from anti-Indian activities as it damages their Panjabi brothers in India, who get labeled as separatists for no fault.

CORROBORATION FROM SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB---- HINDUS AND MUSLIMS ARE AT PAR IN SIKHISM

When Guru Nanak Sahib mentioned about the attack of Babur (that  is quoted on page 360 in Sri Guru Granth Sahib (SGGS)

Having attacked Khuraasaan, Baabar terrified Hindustan.

The Creator Himself does not take the blame but has sent the Mogal as the messenger of death.

There was so much slaughter that the people screamed. Didn't You feel compassion, Lord?

In the later verses, Guru Sahib implies that the Indian rajas and rulers of those times who failed to protect Hindustan should be held accountable( perhaps they became self-obsessed and could not care for their people)

The following observations are noteworthy--

Firstly, Guru Nanak Sahib spoke about the entire Hindustan spread from Afghanistan to the south of the Indian subcontinent. Secondly, this verse may not be misconstrued as Guru Nanak's opinion or idea against Muslims---but a particular ruler of that time. Guru Nanak's closest aid was Muslim—Mardana. Some of the references of Guru Nanak on Allah in Sri Guru Granth Sahib (SGGS)  are

Page 53, Line 10

O Baba, the Lord Allah is Inaccessible and Infinite.

Page 64, Line 9

He is Allah, the Unknowable, the Inaccessible, All-powerful, and Merciful Creator.

Page 470, Line 7

In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Atharva Veda became prominent; Allah became the Name of God.

Other Sikh Gurus and Kabir Sahib have also referred to Allah in SGGS several times. SGGS contains a significant number of verses of Baba Farid, who is a descendant of Sufi  Hazrat Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer

Then there are substantive references to the word Ram more than 2500 times in SGGS. But the tangible meaning of the Ram is

The first Ram –that is worshipped is the son of Raja Dashrath. The second is Ram, the mind that engages man mostly in the material world of Rajo, Sato, and Tamo Gunas. The third  Ram is that manages the creation. Fourth Ram is which is the Creator—that is in and out of this creation, eternal, Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent.
