One of the highest applications of intelligence and wisdom lies in the interpretation of holy scriptures. These scriptures are expressions in words of the inner experiences and realizations of mystics, prophets, and saints. When interpreted solely through ordinary human intellect, conditioned by ego, prejudice, and limited understanding, their deeper meaning can be distorted, giving rise to conflicting doctrines, religious superiority, and social conflict.

The real challenge, therefore, is not merely to read the scriptures, but to understand the spiritual experience behind their words. This requires the guidance of a realised spiritual teacher who has directly experienced the Reality to which the scriptures point. In the present circumstances, such understanding is more relevant and urgent than ever.
