MYSTIC MYSTERY OF TIME

A.     AT DIVINE LEVEL—THERE IS NO CONCEPT OF TIME.

B.      AT LEVEL OF MIND—TIME IS RELATIVE

C.      AT HUMAN OR SCIENTIFIC LEVEL –TIME IS ABSOLUTE.

D.     EVEN EVOLVED SOULS OF YOGIS CANNOT CAPTURE CONCEPT OF TIME.

E.      PHILOSPOHICAL AND SCIENTFIC IDEAS OF TIME DO NOT GET WITH ASTRAL/COSMIC/DIVINE VIEW.

In Guru Nanak Sahib’s Mool Mantar –the THE TRUTH or GOD is अकाल मूरत – That God beyond concept of time and any महूरत or auspicious time etc. is irrelevant.

But in the chronological domain of physical world Time does exist. Says Guru Nanak—आद सच जुगाद सच है भी सच नानक होसी भी सच. That He “was” the Truth, “has been the Truth since many ages”, “is the Truth now” and “shall be the Truth” in future too. In this world of phenomenon –past, present and future have their relevance.

Mystic Mirdad says—“Time is a wheel created by the senses, and by the senses set a-whirling in the voids of Space. God is the axis of the wheel of Time. Though all things rotate about Him in Time and space, yet is He always timeless and spaceless and still. In the axis all is peace. On the rim all is commotion. Slip from the rim of Time into axis and spare yourselves the nausea of motion. Let Time revolve about you; you revolve not with Time.

To decode Mirdad in simple terminology it means that---- At the Divine level there is no time, at mental level time is relative (just when watching a movie or in dreams or spending time with a beloved) and at physical level it is absolute.  

Even Kabir Sahib says the same चलती चाकी देख के दिया कबीरा रोये// दो पाथर के बीच में साबत रहा न कोय//आसे पासे जो गिरा निकट पिसावा होए// कीली से लगा रहे बाल न बीका होए//

 Where there is Love there is no Time --Jesus says God is Love. Mirdad says Love is the law of God. If God is timelessness then experience of infinite love is Divinity. When Guru Nanak calls EKO or the ONE as Akaal Moorat (अकाल मूरत), beyond the concept of Time—it implies that Guru is also referring to the Love or annihilation of duality where there is no Time.

What is now ?In cosmic realm three states exist in each moment of “now”   (a) Timelessness is in Infinite Love when I-ness (खुदी या होअमे) disappears  (b) feeling of compression of time in mental love and (c) physical time of days and nights. The feel of Time depends upon the  state one is.

Is “Now” Present Moment or Timelessness? “Now” instantly becomes past; past and future are memories or projected fears or thoughts of mind that are imaginative. “Now” is thus Timelessness. That is why Mirdad confirms-- Time is a wheel created by the senses

According to Guru Nanak Sahib even the evolved souls cannot capture “what the Time is” —तिथ वार न जोगी जाने रुत माह न कोई // जा करता सिरठी को साजे आपे जाने सोई – a sage does not know anything of days and time. The one who fashioned this Creation knows All. (Since sages or saints of higher reality cannot fathom the essence of time, they cannot decipher the mystery of Ultimate Reality)

Since all human understanding of this creation is relative (even of good and bad; of Sukh Dukh—pain and pleasure etc) the discussion about confusion and complexity of time (present/past/future) has to be corroborated with journey of life and “higher reality” to which any script may be dedicated.
