VEGETARIANISM-- FLESHLESS LIFE

VEGETARIANISM-- FLESH-LESS LIFE
Tejinder Narang

What is to be inferred from “flesh”?  It is the bondage to (the prison house of) body. Man’s core and crux is flesh, his conception is by flesh, formed and framed in flesh itself. All his “give and take”, “pleasures and sufferings” are with bodies of flesh.  To be free from bodily limitations, he must cut himself from the flesh. That is feasible only, if he is under no compulsion to reincarnate himself in ‘tissues of flesh’ in future. Then his relationship with flesh ceases. Cycle of transmigration is not applicable then.
The prohibition on food of flesh is self-imposed by salvation seekers, who are aware of the purpose of human life and wish to pursue path of mysticism. If one feeds oneself on flesh, he establishes an intense and intimate relationship with the flesh that he digests. He therefore continues to be in the cycle of flesh and bodies. Mirdad, the mystic says, “To feed on Death is to become food for Death. To live by other’s pain is to become a prey for pain. So has decreed the Omniwill”.
Whether the feed is of flesh or of vegetation, the same karmic principle applies except that ‘debt of death’ of vegetarian diet is very minimal and can be settled by prayer and meditation.  Aspirant of “Mukti”, willingly abandon ingestion of food of flesh in compliance with the teachings of their God Masters so that they owe least “Debt to Death”. Says Mirdad,  this life of flesh then becomes a ‘bridge to the fleshless life.

INDIAN LAND ACQUISITION BILL (2011) TO DERAIL INDIAN AND FOREIGN INVESTMENT

Tejinder Narang

FROM PROSPERITY TO POVERTY— NEW LAND ACQUISITION BILL NOW IN INDIAN PARLIAMENT.
Centre and States both will exercise control on land to be acquired --right from the collector at district level to Chief Secretary of the state with his minions, then  further  to Minister and Chief minister of the State and up to Ministry of Rural Development in New Delhi. Cabinet may come later on. Courts can intervene any time. (70 page draft bill can be seen on the website of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India.)
Can any industry come up with such provisions?? Who will invest in India ? Even “ non- owners” of land are to be compensated --as part of the daily loss of employment to the labour. Liabilities are unlimited for any investor in India.SC/ST—backward classes notified by separate acts-- are to be specially considered for compensation.
Rent seeking is encouraged at all levels. If any Indian company finds this improbable to start any industry with such bureaucratic provisions, will foreign companies do?? Manufacturing that is required to be encouraged for more jobs, value added production,  exports, improved living standards, economic welfare are all negated under this bill.
Economist  Swaminathan  Aiyer  has described the bills in right name "Luddite" throwback to 19th century in the Indian context (Read below the link). He has said it all specially on Social Impact Assessment”—which can never be final or completed and is a part of the environmental clearance.

“Some critics have focused on its high compensation norms. But its worst provisions are for Social Impact Assessment (SIA) reports and mandatory rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R). Every piece of land acquired, no matter how small, will require an SIA, to be later reviewed by an expert committee, followed by a government survey, followed by actual acquisition proceedings. Any decisions can then be challenged in the courts. These procedures could take years, delaying all industrialization and urbanization.”
This Land Bill is yet another replica of Food Security Bill of social spending except that immediate onus of spending is shifted from the state kitty to the corporate purse. Corporates invest on viability and not on doles.
Net effect-- Keep the country poor. Get the votes of the poor and enrich the rulers. In the process it amounts to “from prosperity to poverty” by political populism. Five steps backward with one step forward is the policy prescription.

NATIONAL SPOT EXCAHNGE LTD (NSEL)—INCOME TAX RAIDS

Tejinder Narang
1        Unfortunately, the creditors will be at a loss. The very of hope, of realizing any payments from NSEL after Income tax raids on the borrowers, will fade away.
2        Exchange’s liability is total irrespective of pay –in. Drawing a monthly schedule of payments by NSEL was in any case illegal, hollow and subjective due to pay-in/pay out procedure. Even that is rendered worthless now.
3        With IT department’s intervention, bank accounts of all borrowers may be sealed or blocked. Borrowers/ defaulters are in the imminent danger of being slapped with income tax notice for the unpaid amounts which will be deemed income. A new dispute will crystalize. Intervention of ED has already been hinted at.
4        Income tax department may enter into settlement proceedings. The money goes to the income tax department, if any ---and not to NSEL/creditors
5        Sales tax department may equally become active due to commodity related transaction.
6        Investigations/litigation can be dragged for years amongst borrowers/ IT/ST departments.
7        Even the creditors/investors may be questioned for source of funding large commodity transactions without having any information of underlying assets. (Since Creditors were dealing with an exchange they are not supposed to know anyhow). But what about due diligence??
8        This is typical of any default that Government departments handle. Multiple agencies naturally get involved without realizing that dodgers may benefit and beneficiaries may suffer. The concept of profit/loss/purpose/guarantees is rendered void.
9        They say--There is none above law. But what is the law?  Company Law, FMC, Income tax, Indian law? Or Law of Equity and Justice??
