Mera Rab मेरा रब

मेरा रब। 

जिसको परवरदिगार भी कहा गया है।

ला जमीन है

ला मकान है। 

ला जबान है। 

ला जवाब है। 

हर वक़्त हाजिर है। 

और ऑलमें-नासूत* से लेकर 

आलमे-हाहूत* तक 

और अगर आगे भी कोई मौकाम है

ऊसमे

सारे मखलूक की परवरिश कर रहा है।

और वह पूरी तरह से खामोश है।

(* In Sufism, the spiritual regions (also known as "planes" or "realms") are often referred to as "spheres" or "worlds". Here are the spiritual regions starting from the "Alam Nasoot" (the realm of the material world):

1. Alam Nasoot (the realm of the material world)

2. Alam Malakoot (the realm of the angels)

3. Alam Jabaroot (the realm of power/might)

4. Alam Lahoot (the realm of divinity)

5. Alam Hahoot (the realm of pure being)

Note that different Sufi schools and traditions may have slightly different interpretations of the spiritual regions or may use different terminology to refer to them.)

दिल सोज़ से ख़ाली है निगह पाक नहीं है 

फिर इस में अजब क्या कि तू बेबाक नहीं है 

 

Your heart is devoid of passionate love for the Lord; Neither are your intentions honest for His love( meaning your prayers are meant to fulfill worldly desires). That is why you are not fearless and dithering on the path of self-realization.

 

है ज़ौक़-ए-तजल्ली भी इसी ख़ाक में पिन्हाँ 

ग़ाफ़िल तू निरा साहिब-ए-इदराक नहीं है 

 

Even the desire to experience Lord's radiance is hidden in every particle of His dust. You are negligent and lack basic intelligence. Don't deem that you are the Lord of wisdom.  

 

वो आँख कि है सुर्मा-ए-अफ़रंग से रौशन 

पुरकार ओ सुख़न-साज़ है नमनाक नहीं है 

 

Your eyes are not merely an instrument of vision decorated with European collyrium. If there are no tears in the eyes which remain unaffected by the cries and woes of others uttered even with poetic pain—then they are useless.     

 

क्या सूफ़ी ओ मुल्ला को ख़बर मेरे जुनूँ की 

उन का सर-ए-दामन भी अभी चाक नहीं है 

 

The priestly class is ignorant of my intense craziness and yearning for the Lord. They are merely concerned with hems, cutting, and the fashion of their clothes.

 

कब तक रहे महकूमी-ए-अंजुम में मिरी ख़ाक 

या मैं नहीं या गर्दिश-ए-अफ़्लाक नहीं है

The dictates of the planetary stars do not govern my humble existence of dust. ( why should I remain in the captivity of this transient world).

My Self seeks eternal liberation and not a rotational life in the Universe.

(Only the God-realized Self exists beyond the circumambulation of stars in the skies.)

 

बिजली हूँ नज़र कोह ओ बयाबाँ पे है मेरी 

मेरे लिए शायाँ ख़स-ओ-ख़ाशाक नहीं है 

I am the radiant transcendent light beyond description. I am not meant to take rest on this worldly clutter of straws/ grass, and dust.

 

आलम है फ़क़त मोमिन-ए-जाँबाज़ की मीरास 

मोमिन नहीं जो साहिब-ए-लौलाक नहीं है 

Intellectuals and priestly class are devoted to those who are bold and powerful.

But the real devotee is the One who abides by the call given by the Prophet Mohmmad.
