तू अभी रहगुज़र में है क़ैद-ए-मक़ाम से गुज़र
मिस्र ओ हिजाज़ से गुज़र पारस ओ शाम से गुज़र
You are currently a traveller on the path, and stuck in this
world. Transcend this intervening period.
Your mind roams from east to west and seeks of gold (wealth). Transcend
these limitations.
जिस का अमल है बे-ग़रज़ उस की जज़ा कुछ और है
हूर ओ ख़ियाम से गुज़र बादा-ओ-जाम से गुज़र
Selfless actions yield paranormal results and
consequences
Rise above fascination of
beauty or beautiful women and the craving of intoxication by wine’s goblet like Khyaam
गरचे है दिल-कुशा बहुत हुस्न-ए-फ़रंग की बहार
ताएरक-ए-बुलंद-बाम दाना-ओ-दाम से गुज़र
If your heart yearns for the western or beautiful white girls.
A small grain on the ground is a clever trap for the powerful bird
(soul) sitting on high terrace or roof(baam)--- transcend that temptation.
कोह-शिगाफ़ तेरी ज़र्ब तुझ से कुशाद-ए-शर्क़-ओ-ग़र्ब
तेग़-ए-हिलाल की तरह ऐश-ए-नियाम से गुज़र
If some powerful passion like a mountain or craving or event still
entraps you in the East and the West,
Then cover your heart with the sword's sheath and pass through unscathed.
तेरा इमाम बे-हुज़ूर तेरी नमाज़ बे-सुरूर
ऐसी नमाज़ से गुज़र ऐसे इमाम से गुज़र
Your inner self ( mind acting as Murshid) lacks devotion, and your
prayer is short of passionate love.
Transcend beyond fake prayer and devotion unworthy of total submission
to God.
